This class goes over the legal foundations to recognize the reasonable articulable suspicion necessary for drug transactions. Class participants will review recent court decisions which validate the legal foundations required to identify the behaviors commonly associated with drug traffickers. Class participants will review numerous videos of actual street level drug transactions and the different forms they can take (cars, streets, etc...). Ever wonder how traffickers communicate? Class participants will also review recorded calls between traffickers and their customers, and traffickers and their co-conspirators to get an idea on how traffickers communicate as well as some insights into their organizational models.
Drug overdoses are a National Epidemic which touch every community in the United States. From the initial response to an overdose scene all the way to case presentment for final prosecution, investigating overdoses, fatal and non-fatal, can be complex. This course is designed to assist class participants in adding to their skillset when investigating overdoses. The class will go over the step-by-step process of conducting overdose investigations, the possible hurdles which may arise as well as possible solutions to these problems. Participants will also go over current drug trends which are driving the overdose problem.
